There is of course no difficult posed in seeing it: it sit at the heart of London on the corner of Hyde Park, and is thus extremely accessible.  You can take a train to London Victoria, or use the tube to come out at Victoria, Hyde Park Corner or Green Park, all of which are a stone’s throw from the palace.  You can take such buses as the number 11, 211, C1 or C10: all of these go along Buckingham Palace Road, and you can get off just outside the palace.  Alternatively, Victoria Coach Station is a short walk from the palace if you are travelling from further afield.

On arriving you will find the palace to be an extremely interesting and beautiful place to visit: as the working household of the British monarch it is obviously kept in very good condition, and it is a real wonder to wander round and marvel at the luxury therein.  There are many exciting features of the palace which you should definitely make sure you visit on your trip there.  

One of these is the palace’s State Rooms, where you will see behind the closed doors of power into the setting for some incredibly high profile meetings.  These are the rooms which the Queen uses as a reception area to greet her guests when arriving for a prestigious visit.  As the palace is a fully functional royal household, these rooms are of course only open to the public when the Queen visits Scotland.  She takes a trip every year in the summer months, and so you will be definitely be able to be shown round if your visit is between 27th of July and the 1st of October. 

As well as this you will have the chance to see the palace’s incredibly beautiful Garden.  The Royal Family demand only the best in horticultural landscaping, and their Garden is really quite something behold.  Take a walk around this seemingly miraculous green place at the heart of the city centre and enjoy all the lush flora and fauna on offer there.

You should also check out The Royal Mews while you are there, quite possibly the finest and most upmarket garage you will ever go to!  The Royal Mews stores the fleet of Royal vehicles that are used for ceremonial occasions: these are the beautiful golden carriages that you will have seen before on the T.V.  Now is your chance to see these works of art up close.  Everyone from petrolheads to fairy tales enthusiasts will find this fascinating in one aspect or another.  Aside from these exceptional carriages you might even get the chance to meet the Queen’s horses!
